As a brief outline, the Koch Corporation was originated in 1936 by Charles A. Koch. At that time it was called Chas. A. Koch Glass Company. This company was engaged in glass, glazing, and installation of glazing materials. In 1951, a separate corporation was formed, The Chas. A. Koch Erecting Company. This corporation was organized to deal with the many complexities involved in the erection of windows and curtainwalls in the heavy construction industry. With the advent of aluminum windows and curtainwalls, came requirements for contractors capable of installing these materials for the manufacturers. The Chas. A. Koch Erecting Company began to specialize in that area and became a nationwide organization.

In 1968, the Chas. A. Koch Erecting Company had a corporate title change to its present name, Koch Corporation. This was done to encompass our expanded operations which then included general contracting and architectural testing of windows, window-walls, and curtainwalls. The company continued to concentrate its efforts in areas of erection that required special skills and techniques. These included curtainwalls, monumental windows, and detention windows.
Since 1968 the Koch Corporation has completed numerous curtainwall projects throughout 36 states and is a member of the Iron Workers Employers Association Inc.
In the mid 1970's a new nationwide industry developed consisting of window replacement. This was primarily in response to the necessity to conserve energy. Window Technology improved dramatically during this era, which every government agency then took advantage. Koch Corporation was one of the early leaders in this specialized area. Since that time, Koch Corporation has concentrated its efforts almost exclusively to this field, working closely with manufacturers whom addressed this industry as well. Our clients include entities such as the Department of Defense, General Services Administration, Veterans Administration, numerous Public Housing Authorities, Universities, Public Schools, and private businesses.
With the expansion of our nations airports, the need for sound proofing homes and other structures has become essential, and mandated by congress. In 1998 Koch Corporation established a division that concentrates solely in this area of construction. We are now a leading national contractor in the sound insulation field, and have participated in many airport programs across the country.
