Clinton Correctional Facility

Koch Corporation has installed Hopes Steel Guard Series Steel Detention Windows in prisons across the US for several decades and remains a leading installer for these products with over 30 years experience. Hopes Windows has been a long standing leader in the production of detention and security windows during their 100 plus years of business. It is said that Hopes windows often outlast the buildings in which they are installed! We install even the most difficult security and detention windows despite the odd shaped openings many of the aged buildings present. Often there is an issue with asbestos and lead due to the age of the buildings but Koch is able to self-perform all abatement mitigation.

Project Description

Clinton Correctional Facility, a maximum-security prison, is located near the Canadian boarder and is the largest prison in the New York system. With approximately 2,900 inmates, and being one of the oldest prisons, having opened in 1845, the buildings were in dire need of new, energy efficient security windows. The Clinton campus actually consists of two components. There is the “Clinton Main”, which is composed of maximum security cells, and Clinton Annex, also a maximum security area but consists of dorms and room-style housing which is similar to that found in medium security facilities. After being awarded the contract for this project through the competitive bidding process, under the direction of the New York State Design and Construction Office of General Services, Koch Corporation’s bonded window installation team self-performed all necessary abatement in this facility and replaced the old windows with energy efficient, detention-rated windows made locally in America by Hopes Windows.
